What Is ReVanced YouTube Extended for Android 6 & 7?
Modern ReVanced and ReVanced Extended builds require Android 8.0 or higher and much newer YouTube versions. Devices stuck on Android 6 or 7 were left without official support.
kitadai31’s fork takes YouTube 17.34.36, applies a specially adapted set of ReVanced Extended patches, and uses several workarounds (app version spoofing + freezing server-side layouts + adding missing resources) so the old client can still talk to YouTube’s servers. The result is a functional, ad-free YouTube experience with many classic RVX features — but it is imperfect and increasingly fragile.

Recommended method – Patch it yourself
Install GmsCore
Install ReVanced GmsCore first.
Get the base APK
Download the official YouTube 17.34.36 APK (do not install the stock version).
Install Manager
Install the ReVanced Manager fork for Android 5–7 (or configure a regular Manager with kitadai31’s patches source).
Set patches source
Set patches organization to kitadai31 and source to revanced-patches-android6-7.
Select & patch
Select the 17.34.36 APK from storage and patch it.
Enable critical patches
Make sure these are enabled: Spoof app version, Freeze layout updates, and Add missing resources.
Install & sign in
Install the patched APK and sign in with GmsCore.
Pre-built APKs
Community mirrors sometimes offer ready-made builds. Always verify the package name (app.rvx.android.youtube) and prefer building it yourself when possible.
Root users can use the mount method and skip GmsCore, but must detach YouTube from Play Store updates.
